The vaccine

Transmune® is an immune complex vaccine against IBD, composed of the Winterfield 2512 strain combined with specific antibodies called virus-protective immunoglobulins, which will be administered at the hatchery.

The product was developed in the early 2000s and was rapidly registered in many countries around the world. The vaccine is currently marketed in over 75 countries.

Advantages of TRANSMUNE®

Peace of mind
Reduces shedding to progressively lower the wild virus pressure and avoid the need of farm vaccination

Consistency
Herds with uniform results

Trust
Solid partnership between producers and Ceva, year after year

Isolation of strains (%) between different vaccination programmes over a 4-year period (2013-2016), in 527 herds. Transmune® systematically blocks exchange against other IBD strains.

Uniform titres in herds vaccinated by Transmune, demonstrating homogeneous protection

Transmune®

Average IBD titre in herds vaccinated with Transmune®. Total samples: 702 herds.

Uniformity of titres, with several negatives, which means that some herds are not protected.

Average IBD titre in herds vaccinated with DW vaccines. Total samples: 336 herds.

rHVT-VP2

Disuniformity of titres. In the case of herds vaccinated with HVT-VP2 IBD vaccines, positive titres in these ELISA kits mean replication of field strains, in other words, a challenge in the field.

Average IBD titre in herds vaccinated with rHVT-VP2. Total samples: 134 herds.

With Transmune, birds benefit from higher immunity than any other vaccination technology.

CID 50 trial

CID 50 trial
Because Transmune is registered in Europe, a unique quality control procedure had to be developed to guarantee the vaccine’s efficacy and safety.

Each production batch is thoroughly tested using a CID (Chick Infective Dose 50) test. This test is used with the final mixed product to guarantee the vaccine’s potency and safety.

Gumboro disease

Gumboro disease is a highly contagious disease of young chickens, caused by the infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV).
